The Botanivore is said to be a fauna greedy gin that originates from California. Being the gin lovers that we are, we just had to get our hands on some.
Apparently the team at Sipsmith had a ‘Eureka!’ moment and decided to bring back traditional copper distilleries because, why not? We also heard that they had too much time on their hands, so they took a trip around the world, searching high and low for ten fine botanicals; none of which would surprise a 19th century master distiller.
Inspired by its African heritage, over fifty recipes were tried and discarded to deliver flavours back in the British colonial times.
A Scottish gin distilled from juniper berries, orange peel, lemon peel, coriander seed, angelica root, orris root, cassia bark and almond powder.
Hand crafted and produced in a traditional pot still in small batches, this gin is made from 9 fresh botanicals. The lingering taste of saffron, together with the buttery texture and subtle spice makes this a unique gin.
'Sabre' represents a traditional London Dry style gin led by an undercurrent of juniper heavy flavours balanced with coriander. The additional wattle seeds adds depth to the mid palate, introducing a creamy texture.
Named after the militia's uniforms during the American Revolution, the aroma of orange blossom and lemon sherbet is embodied in the Bluecoat American gin, finishing with a hit of zesty citrus fruit.
